This is the poster Bob Marley used for his song 'redemption song'. It is quite a simple poster but tells you everything you need. The main picture is of course Bob Marley himself, and as soon as people look at this without looking at the name they will know straight away who this is. In terms of the actual picture, it hasn't got any colour in it, it is just in black and white. This makes the cover seem quite old, which is what Bob Marley's music was like. It wasn't like anything else at the time and so it was different. Despite having no colour it is quite eye catching, in the sense that their is one big picture. If it was put next to things with a lot of colour then it wouldn't be the first one you look at, but because you recognise the artist straight away you will look at what is is about. In terms of the writing, they have used the same font which is important, and the title of the song is a different colour to make it easier for the audience to see and notice. I think they have put the artist name bigger that the name of the song because of the fact that everyone likes Bob Marley and when they see it, they might be interested.
This is the poster for Katy Perry's song Part Of Me. Despite being different genres it is similar to Bob Marley (above). She is the main picture and straight away anyone interested in music will know who that is when they first look at it. In terms of the mise en scene, what she is wearing is relevant to the song, in the fact that she joins the marines, and becomes part of their training programme. The font is the same throughout the poster, but the size of it is different. The reason for this might be because they want to show more of the artist name. The word 'Katy Perry' is not only a different colour, but also a lot bigger than the rest of the words, as it the slogan 'throw your bombs and your blows'. The word Bombs and Katy Perry are a different colour maybe to make it more eye catching, and because it is an important part of the song, ans associated with the army. The poster also says the date of the realise to tell people when it is out and when it is available.
This was Michael Jackson Poster for his new song and music video thriller. It is slightly different to the two above in the fact that it isn't a picture of the singer. Instead with this is it a cartoon character of the singer but without a face. However when i first saw this i new straight away that it was for Michael Jackson. The reason for this wasn't because it says MJ and Thriller, on it but because of the eyes. The eyes are very similar to his and so when i saw it i wanted to see what it was about. The colours used don't clash and in my opinion they are quite eye catching. The font for the words are the same and it is easy to read. The word MJ is suppose to make a nose and the word thriller a mouth, and so i think that it why they are different colours; in order to make it seem more obvious for the reader. With this poster they have kept it quite simple and easy to read and understand, but i don't think it is promoting the video as well as Katy Perry's poster, simply because it doesn't give as much information.
